Roughly 24 hours after Google Keep made a short appearance on the web, it appears the service has actually gone live. From the looks of it, Google Keep is being positioned as a simple note taking service which allows you to “stay on top of your world by quickly accessing and organizing the information you want†by allowing you to enter notes, pictures and lists.
Google Keep is accessible through Google Drive and can also be downloaded on your Android phone and tablet from Google Play. It’s nice to see Google expand its service and app portfolio, but Google Keep will need to improve quickly if they want to compete with services like Evernote, Wunderlist, SpringPad and even Microsoft’s OneNote. Hopefully Google Keep will evolve into a much more robust app with notifications, note categorization, tagging or even drawing support.
