Games with Friends releases Icomania for Android

I’m a fool for a game with a cool Play Store Icon so it’s only natural I had to see what all the fuss is about when it comes to Icomania for Android.Screenshot_2013-03-16-14-03-33

Icomania is the latest from Games with Friends makers of the popular Android Games Paint for Friends & Test for Friends. In case you didn’t guess, Icomania is a guessing game all about Icons, Logos, and Brands. The gameplay is pretty straightforward in Icomania as you each question consists of a stylized picture and a bunch of mixed up letters to choose from. You get hints in the form of letter removal and placement; you’ll only start out with 3 of each, but can buy more via the IAP setup. I have no clue as to how many questions there are in the game, I’m currently about 40 questions in and it feels like there’s no end in sight.

Icomania is a great little guessing game that takes the old adage “simplicity is the key…” to heart. The game has no extras, options, high-score tables or any other form of enlightenment aside from countless questions that test your knowledge of pop culture symbols. I really enjoy the style of the game more than anything else; it’s always cool to see a stylistic approach to popular characters like Batman, Homer or even Steve Jobs.  If you’re in the market for a new guessing game Icomania is well worth a look, and you can pick it up for free on Google Play.
