Not only has T-Mobile announced that the Nexus 4 will be available in all retail locations in the coming weeks, but the Nexus 7 3G is now available in the Google Play store with a T-Mobile sim card. And the second city slated to get Magenta’s LTE network has been revealed.
T-Mobile has shown great support for the Nexus 4. The carrier introduced the handset with limited retail availability near its original launch, but that’s about to change. T-Mobile has announced that, despite supply constraints, the Nexus 4 will be available at all retail locations in the coming weeks. The Nexus 4 will also be available on their website by January 23. While this is great news for anyone looking to purchase a Nexus 4, a T-Mobile supplied handset does come at a price. You can get a Nexus 4 from T-Mobile on contract for $ 199, but without you’re looking at $ 499 â€" a $ 150 premium over the Google Play Nexus 4.
If you’re looking to use a Nexus 7 3G with T-Mobile, it got a lot easier today with the release of a Nexus 7 3G/T-Mobile sim card bundle on the Google Play store. The T-Mobile Nexus 7 3G is identical to the AT&T bundle; it just saves you the extra step of having to obtain a T-Mobile sim card. Google Play currently lists the T-Mobile Nexus 7 3G bundle as shipping in 3 to 5 days.
Finally, in network related news, T-Mobile has revealed that after Las Vegas, Kansas City will be the next city to receive access to T-Mobile’s LTE network. Las Vegas LTE should be going live any day now, with Kansas City soon to follow. According to Fierce Wireless, T-Mobile USA EVP and CTO Neville Ray hinted that T-Mobile’s LTE buildout will likely follow the same pattern their 1900MHz 3G buildout has. That means Baltimore, Houston and Washington, D.C. could be seeing LTE access shortly.
