Archos 101 Titanium – a stylish tablet

Archos 101 Titanium â€" a stylish tablet

Archos has been trying to break into the tablet business for quite a while now. And this CES it has brought forth a slew of tablets. Archos 101 Titanium is among the latest line up. The Archos 101 Titanium is a far off successor to last year’s 101XS, but hails from the Archos Elements species. As you might be aware the Elements series is best known for its remarkable finishes and lavishing bodies, hence Archos 101 Titanium is in the same vein. Although the Archos 101 Titanium is built to impress it pales in when directly compared with the newly announced 97 Platinum.

The Archos 101 Titanium was kept in shadows for quite a while but this morning Archos came forward with a press release and spilled the beans. The Archos 101 Titanium will feature a High Definition 10.1 inch IPS display with capacitive multi touch screen, from what we have seen the bluish aura found in the earlier model is gone making the display less annoying. The Archos 101 Titanium’s screen fails to even come close to the one found on its richer brother the 97 Platinum which has a Retina quality display.

The tablet will run on a dual core processor clocking at 1.6 GHz, a quad core GPU will ensure that the tablet won’t struggle with graphics heavy application. Archos 101 Titanium will come with Android version 4.1 Jelly Bean as its operating system. The most interesting part is the price at which the Archos 101 Titanium is going to go to retail. The tablet is competitively priced at $ 199 (around £169) making it one of the better built tablets. There is no word on the availability of the tablet though and no release dates have been announced, we are guessing that the tablets will start shipping by the end of March. We will keep you in the loop if any more information pops up.
