LG Optimus G Pro in the works

LG Optimus G Pro in the works

LG might be looking to get into the “full HD screen” business, if the recent rumors are to be trusted. An image has been handed to Engadget by an anonymous benefactor, which reveals that the LG Optimus G Pro might be cooking in LG’s kitchen. Even though that the Optimus G is only a few month old, more so in the US, the next iteration of the smartphone may already be in manufacturing phase. The regarding image also states that the LG Optimus G Pro may be heading towards NTT DoCoMo, a Japanese carrier. Another site (coincidentally is a Japanese one), Blog of Mobile is also reporting match specs for LG Optimus G Pro.

If all it is to be believed, the LG Optimus G Pro will be a amped up LG Optimus G. The smartphone will be featuring a 5 inch screen with a full High Definition (1920 x 1080) resolution. A 1.7 GHZ quad core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, which is an increment from the 1.5 GHz one LG Optimus G used. The LG Optimus G Pro will have 32 GB of internal memory, 2 GB of RAM and a gigantic 3,000 mAh battery. The smartphone will measure 139.0×70.0×10.0mm and will weigh 160 grams. The LG Optimus G will also come with Android version 4.1, which is a bit baffling as if why LG would choose a slightly outdated OS.

Like we always said, the more the competition, the better off the customers are. This year we have already seen the trend moving towards Full HD screens and 5 inch standards of top end smartphones. LG was a bit late on the quad core business last year but this time it might not be late to work. HTC Droid DNA, Sony Xperia Z and Huawei Ascend D2 are already either launched or ready to be, while Samsung is gearing up to make the waves. LG may have to go head to head with them all but at least its in the race this time.
