Rovioâs games generally follow a certain physics-based formula, but it looks like thatâs about to change. The Croods is an upcoming movie from Dreamworks, and Rovio has just revealed theyâll be doing a tie-in game for the flick sans Angry Birds.
The Croods is a prehistoric comedy that follows a family of cavemen whoâve been driven from their home. The film is set to arrive in theaters March 22, and the Croods game will come out a week earlier on the 14th. Little is known about The Croods game so far, but it looks to be a building game set in prehistoric times. Based off the premise of the movie it looks like youâll have to help the Stone Age family rebuild their homestead. Yup, itâs another building game, but considering its Rovio & Dreamworks it should be a good one. Remember Angry Birds Rio? That was the companyâs last movie-tie in game which turned out pretty well.
As itâs Rovio Iâm sure more information will start coming about The Croods game soon. Iâll probably pass on the movie, but the game will definitely get some playtime. If nothing else itâs exciting to see the two studios work together again, and Iâm sure it wonât be the last time. Weâll keep you informed as we learn more about The Croods, until then you can check out the trailer below.
