Today’s a great day if you’re a Stargate fan as Arkalis-Interactive has just released Stargate Command App for Android. Needless to say, this caught me totally off guard and and it looks like fans finally have a solid Stargate App on Android.
The Stargate Command app actually comes in three parts as you get access to Stargate Command, Stargate Golf, and Teal’c’s revenge. The Command center lets you look around the Stargate room where you can click on a few things while the Golf setup lets you whack golf balls into the Stargate. Nice touch. Last but certainly not least you get the actual “game†which is called Teal’c’s Revenge. This is where the action lies and where you’ll get to square off with Teal’c against Jaffa, the Goa’uld, and Replicators in true Stargate fashion. Yup, you get to use the Ma’Tok staff and it looks like it’s going to be a blast… literally.
As cool as Stargate Command app looks the developers made one mistake when putting this out there the way they did. The game isn’t actually free. You get to do everything but play Teal’c’s Revenge and if you want to play that it’ll cost you a buck. Small price to pay to kick ass as Teal’c, but I wish they would have been a bit more upfront about it. While I didn’t try that part of the game, everything else seems solid and as a whole Stargate Command looks like something Stargate fans will enjoy. I’m a fan so you can expect a full review next weekend. You can pick up Arkalis-Interactive’s Stargate Command for free on Google Play, just keep in mind the Teal’c section will cost $ 0.99.
